Combining the rich flavors of prosciutto, fennel salami, and semi curado manchego cheese with fresh baby leaf lettuce and juicy tomatoes, all seasoned with salt, pepper, and a splash of sherry vinegar, this sandwich is a true treat for the senses.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or ciabatta works well)
  • Slices of prosciutto
  • Slices of fennel salami
  • Semi curado manchego cheese, sliced
  • Baby leaf lettuce
  • Tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sherry vinegar
  • Butter for frying

Method

  1. Assemble the Sandwich:
  • On one slice of bread, layer the prosciutto, fennel salami, and slices of semi curado manchego cheese.
  • Add a layer of baby leaf lettuce and top with thinly sliced tomatoes.
  • Season the tomatoes with a pinch of salt, pepper, and a splash of sherry vinegar for extra zing.
  1. Prepare for Frying:
  • Top with the second slice of bread. Butter the outside of both slices of bread generously.
  1. Fry the Sandwich:
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  1. Serve:
  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it rest for a minute before slicing in half.
  • Serve immediately, and enjoy the melty, savory goodness!
